Club Sports Roundup

Club Men’s Rugby traveled to Paterson, New Jersey on Sunday, September 9th to take on one of the top Division II Men’s Rugby Clubs, William Paterson University. Hofstra allowed an early try to the Pioneers, who led 7-0 following a successful conversion. As the teams battled wet field conditions, the Pride headed into the half facing a 12-0 deficit. Despite playing well overall, Hofstra would eventually fall by a score of 30-0, and will look to rebound at home against divisional opponent Montclair State University on Sunday, September 16th at 12:00pm.

Club Women’s Rugby hosted Monroe College on Saturday, September 8^th. Both teams faced the obstacle of poor weather conditions, which amounted to sloppy play at times. Despite a try from Samantha Dickie, the Pride fell to the Mustangs by a score of 72-5. Hofstra will seek to rebound at home against Long Island rival Stony Brook University on Sunday, September 16th at 3:30pm.

In Hofstra's loss to Monroe, Dickie excelled on the pitch for the Pride, tallying the only try for her side and showing great potential.
