Club Ice Hockey traveled to Newark, New Jersey on Friday,
October 26th to take on the Stevens Institute of Technology. Liam
Hartenstein was strong in net for the Pride, who despite goals from Brandon
Caccavale, Andrew Gagnon, and Joe Grice would ultimately fall to the Ducks by a
score of 4-3.
On Sunday, October 28th, Hofstra took on MCHC power Fordham
University at The Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon, New York. The Pride’s special
teams were strong, as Michael Sweeney scored a power play goal and Matt McGuirk
added a shorthanded goal, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Rams triumphed by a
score of 4-2. Hofstra will look to get back on track on Friday, November 2nd,
when they host SUNY Maritime at Northwell Health Ice Center at Eisenhower Park
at 9:45pm.
Club Equestrian visited
the Thomas School of Horsemanship on Sunday, October 28th for a show
hosted by Molloy College. Julia Shalov placed 1st in the advanced
walk trot canter, while Erin Rosner finished in 3rd place for
intermediate fences, and Maya Palmer finished 4th in the walk trot.

Club Men’s Lacrosse hosted
a round robin with Fairfield University and Stony Brook University on Sunday,
October 28th at Shuart Stadium. Despite holding a two-goal lead at
the half over Fairfield, the Pride would ultimately fall to the Stags by a
score of 6-4. Hofstra would bounce back when they faced off against their Long
Island Rivals, trouncing the Seawolves 13-2.
Club Quidditch competed
in the United States Quidditch Northeast Regionals in Rochester, New York on
Saturday, October 27th. Hofstra posted victories over Skidmore
College and Clark University, but came up short in their attempt to qualify for
a bid to Nationals.
Club Climbing visited
Brooklyn Boulders on Saturday, October 27th. With 20 members in
attendance, the club wore costumes to celebrate Halloween. It was a safe and
productive climb!
Club Running attended
the NIRCA Northeast Regional Meet in Milton, NY on Saturday, October 27th.
Despite competing during a Nor’easter, Colleen Todd was able to run a 6K in
35:09.
Club Men’s Rugby traveled
to Montclair State University on Sunday, October 28th for a
B-side scrimmage. 12 new players got a full game in against a developing
Montclair side. It was a great opportunity to learn on both sides.
