Men's Rugby
hosted Molloy College and SUNY Maritime for the Long Island Cup on the
Intramural Rugby Field at Hofstra University on Saturday, April 7th.
Hofstra battled Molloy in the first game of the day. Noel Shewjattan, Ray
Brown, Jeremy Tabansi, and Dave Morales all scored for the Pride as they went
on to beat the Lions by a score of 24-5.

In their
second game of the day, Hofstra battled SUNY Maritime in a hard-fought
game. Hofstra went up 14-0 in the first thirty
minutes of play before the Mariners rallied late to claim a 24-19 victory.
Club
Women's Ultimate Frisbee
hosted a tournament on Sunday, April 8th on the Hofstra Intramural
Fields and fielded two teams mixed with the Men's Ultimate team. The Hofstra A
team went 3-1 on the day by beating Molloy 13-5, Hofstra B 12-5, and Stony
Brook in a forfeit, but losing to Stony Brook 13-8. The Hofstra B team went 1-3,
defeating Molloy by forfeit, and falling to Molloy 13-9, Stony Brook 13-5, and Hofstra
A 12-5.
Club
Baseball traveled to
Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, April 8th to take on nationally
ranked Loyola University. The Pride battled the Greyhounds, but ultimately
wound up losing both games of the doubleheader by scores of 5-2 and 6-5. The
Pride will be back in action next week against the University of Delaware.
Club
Men's Lacrosse hosted
Rutgers University and Fairfield University on Sunday, April 8th at
Shuart Stadium. In their first game
against Rutgers, Hofstra secured their first win against the Scarlet Knights in
program history by beating Rutgers 8-6. In a hard fought second game, the Pride
fell to Fairfield by a score of 10-7.
Club
Women's Lacrosse
traveled to Central Connecticut State University on Saturday, April 8th
to take on the Blue Devils. Zoe Szoztoka tallied two goals, while Jessie
Allendorf, Indigo Milne, and Monika Lay each had a goal. Stephanie Ruscio had
seven saves in net as the Pride fell to CCSU 11-5.

On Sunday,
April 8th, the team hosted NYU for Senior Day. Hofstra played a
great game on both sides of the ball, but ultimately fell to NYU 9-6. It was a
competitive game and although the Pride didn't get the win, they sent off their
graduating seniors with a nice celebration.
Club Women's Soccer
hosted Stevens Institute of Technology at the Hofstra Soccer Stadium in on
Saturday, April 8th. Melissa Medina was a force at sweeper for Hofstra
and Clara Alvarez-Alonso made 19 saves in net, but it wasn’t enough as the
Pride fell to the Ducks 2-0.
Club Softball
held their Senior Day at Baldwin Fields in Baldwin, New York on Sunday, April 8th.
Before the game the team honored their five graduating seniors: Christine
Harvey, Tara Henderson, Kim Ahrens, Alexi Cohan and Dion Wang. The Pride would
lose the first two games of their tripleheader against Montclair State University
by scores of 12-7 and 12-2, but would bounce back with a strong performance in
the third game. Robbi Reed was dominant from the pitching circle, and was
supported by outstanding defense in centerfield by Kim Ahrens. Sara Bornstein
hit an inside-the-park-homerun to propel the Pride to a 7-2 victory.

Club Billiards
hosted a student tournament in the Hofstra University Game Room on Friday,
April 6th. Steve Jacobovitz and TJ Murphy placed first and second,
respectively. The next student tournament will be hosted by the club on Friday,
April 20th in the Game Room.
On Sunday, April 8th, the Pride competed in
their final regular season match at Raxx Pool Hall in West Hempstead, New York.
Hofstra lost a close match 6-5, with TJ Murphy posting a shutout victory and
James Reilly winning his match. Next up for the club is the league playoffs, as
they attempt to qualify for the Tri-Cup Tournament.

Rock Climbing held
their weekly climb at Brooklyn Boulders in Queensbridge, NY on Saturday, April
7th.
CLUB SPORTS STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Indigo Milne-Club Women's
Lacrosse-Sophomore-Biochemistry-Dover, NH
Indigo has
been a standout player on defense for the Pride all season. In the team’s game
against Central Connecticut State, Milne notched a goal while helping the team
to battle while down two key players. On Senior Day against NYU, Indigo was a
force to be reckoned with at midfield, causing
multiple turnovers and leading
the transition up the field.
