The Career Fair is Only Two Days Away! Are You Ready?

Our Fall Career Fair is almost here! Join us on Wednesday, October 9^th from 11am-2pm in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex to meet with our 74 employers  who have part-time, full-time, and internship positions available!

Still not sure whether you want to go to the Career Fair? The answer is simple: YOU DO! You don’t have to be a junior or senior in order to benefit from all that Career Fairs have to offer – just look at our Path of Pride!

Step 3 of the Path of Pride encourages you to Research Careers. This can happen at any time, and what better time to get a jump start than your Freshman or Sophomore year? There’s really no easier way to do this than communicating with people who are currently working in the field! It might even give you an idea of what you want your career to be!

This leads straight into Step 4, where you can Begin to Make Connections. While you talk to employers about their careers, make sure they know who you are, too! Networking can open many doors, some you didn’t know existed. The person you meet your first semester at a Career Fair might keep your name in mind when a position at their company opens in your senior year—you never know!

If you’re a Junior, you’re probably nearing Step 6, where you Search and Apply for Internships. I don’t need to reiterate how much of an asset career fairs can be when looking for internships, but I will: they’re extremely valuable! Research the companies that will be represented before you come to the fair, and be ready to talk to them about the positions they’re looking to fill!

As a Senior, you’re between Step 6 and 7, either looking for an internship or Establishing Post-Graduation Goals and Plans. You’re nearing the end of your time at Hofstra, and you know you’re qualified and prepared to network your way to snagging a job for after you graduate! Get out there and show all these employers why they should hire you!

Come in Monday October 7^th or Tuesday October 8^th from 10am-Noon and 2pm-5pm. Please note: There will be NO Quick Questions on Wednesday, October 9^th.
